Description

I am a fan of the tv series battlestar galactica. So naturally i thoght hey, why not make painting of my favorite character - namely Adama himself.
This art i mainly used the basic brushes in photoshop, trying to make the face asrealistic as possible, but yet maintaining the
look of art (dunno how to explain) The hair i used some of Linda bergqvist style and teqhnicue (tnx again for giving us the tutorials!)
The background is not the most perfect mainly just giving the painting some depth. All in all, i sat and painted 8h on this. (10 min on background)

To begin a portrait is only as strong as its' weakest part, which is your backround eventhough it took a short amount of time it takes away from your great effort in depiction of Admiral Adama. Although screen would have been luminous if this were a photo, however it distracts from portrait because it has a high contrast between it and area around it. By blurring it and blending colors into backround more or less would allow one to still understand that its' aa computer screen without having to tell them with details. Arch off to right behind Adama is a good industrail element to have included, but in this positon its' spliting that portion of the portait from rest of piece. Space between computer screen and industrial element is a void, perhaps could work better if it hinted at something, as in more industrail elements or a hallway because it keeps drawing my attention to that area. As for the actual portrait, well done.

Thank you very much! =)
very constructive and it helped me much. I shall keep your good critics in mind on my next work. This one, (though its fault) is finished. One thing about art is to catch the eye. ;)
